Default Abbey Rock 2003 Adelaide Hills "Hahndorf Rise" Pinot Noir

2003 Adelaide Hills "Hahndorf Rise" Pinot Noir

Wine: 2003 Adelaide Hills Hahndorf Rise PINOT NOIR

Winemaker: Les Sampson

Vineyard: 100% of the grapes were grown on hillsides of this small vineyard at Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills.

Vintage: This select parcel of high quality fruit has previously shown a unique terroir derived from this specific vineyard and this vintage was no exception. The grapes were harvested from the Hahndorf Rise vineyard close to the historic village of Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills.

Winemaking: The wine was pressed out and aged for two years in a mix of new and old French oak barrels. The wine was bottled with minimal filtration to eliminate any possible bruising of the wine.

The wine is a medium depth, dark red cherry colour. The nose highlights the unique terroir characteristics of this wine showing mint-menthol aspects integrated with black cherries, raspberries, chocolate and hints of vanillin from the fine French Oak. The palate is full, soft, silky and velvety with a generous mid palate and great length showing the elegance structure of this wine

Wine Analysis: Alc./Vol. 13.6% pH: 3.37,TA of 6.5 g/l. Res. sugar 2.0 g/l
