2005 Akarua Pinot Noir
The 2005 vintage was recognised for its small yields and tiny berries resulting from rain during the flowering period.
The palate has lengthy tannins which appear firm in its youth while the oak is balanced well with the fruit and acidity. The Akarua 2005 Pinot Noir boasts aromas of dark berries, plums, chocolate and mocha.
This wine requires ageing or if drunk young, decanting. It will cellar well for up to ten years.
