2005 Clare Terese Signature Chardonnay
Our Signatue wines are produced on an irregular basis, and only when we have a fruit harvest of exceptional quality. The 2005 Clare Terese Chardonnay is made from our "top block" vines that were planted in 1989. The 2005 growing season in the Hunter yielded fruit of excellent quality, and the grapes for this wine were hand picked early in the morning of February 4, 2005. Crushing was completed by 9am on the same day and the juice received very careful attention by the winemakers through every step of the development process.
The wine was matured in new French oak barrels from 3 different cooperages to create complementary influences and to enhance the flavours before final blending. The result is a complex varietal wine with a rich palate. This is an outstanding example of the winemaker's art - a wine for connoisseurs.
